Third mode, kind:"selfcheck" (API/MCP only): run our egress-trust probe on your box and POST the verdict JSON to your ping URL. We store verdicts and page you when a provider starts challenging your IP — transitions only, never absolute state.

Must be public internet-facing; we request HEAD-less GET every minute and treat non-2xx/3xx as a miss.

Alert fires only after period + grace without a successful ping — tolerance for slow runs and network jitter.

Alerts arrive as encrypted NIP-17 gift-wrapped DMs from our dedicated alert key — no relay sees the message body, no email needed. Optionally also publish a public kind-1 obituary note per DOWN event.
