How payment works

Two mechanisms. Both end in something verifiable you keep.

x402 per-call Request the paid URL → HTTP 402 challenge names network (Base), asset (native USDC) and exact amount → retry with an X-PAYMENT header; a facilitator verifies and settles on-chain. Ed25519-signed receipt per settlement (signing key published at /.well-known/x402)
Direct transfer Send native USDC on Base to our receiver, then POST the transaction hash to the product’s verify endpoint (or a GitHub issue for services). On-chain transfer to the receiver address + your issued key/reply
